When we first started considering building a home, other blogs helped me a great deal in figuring out which direction we wanted to go. Now that we’re building ourselves, we wanted to get more info out there on the building process and the unexpected fun.
As for the ground-rules of this blog, I’ll be mostly talking about our experience building, the progress, what it’s like to make the decisions, and our thoughts on how we can do it better. I might also call out various vendors who do a great job, and I’m happy to answer any questions I can directly, but I don’t plan to use this page to complain about anyone specifically we work with. If we don’t have a good experience with a particular vendor, we plan discuss them namelessly and talk about how we could have avoided it rather than trash-talk somebody who probably has just as good of intentions as we do.
